Let's make sense of
what you're feeling, together.
I'm Anastasia Tsukanova, a gestalt therapist. I work with adults who feel stuck, anxious, or disconnected from themselves — not by handing out advice, but by slowing down and paying close attention to what's actually happening for you.

I'm a person first, and a therapist second
I came to gestalt therapy the long way around — through my own work in the client's chair, where I slowly learned that being met, honestly and without judgment, changes things. That experience shapes how I sit with you now.
I don't see myself as an expert who has your answers. I see two people in a room, paying attention together to what happens between us and inside you. That's where the real work tends to live.
Outside of practice I'm usually near the sea, reading more books than I can finish, and learning to be gentler with myself — the same thing I hope for the people I work with.
- Four-year gestalt therapy training, Institute of Gestalt Therapy

- Ongoing personal therapy and regular clinical supervision
- 200+ hours of continuing education in trauma-informed work
You might recognize yourself here
You don't need the "right" words or a clear diagnosis to begin. If something here resonates, that's enough of a reason to reach out.
“I feel anxious and can’t switch off”
Constant tension, racing thoughts, a body that won’t relax even when nothing is wrong.
“The moment someone pulls away, I panic”
When closeness feels fragile — bracing for people to leave, holding on too tightly, or leaving first so it hurts less.
“I always expect to be the one who isn’t wanted”
Bracing for a “no” before you’ve even asked, reading rejection into small silences, keeping yourself at arm’s length.
“Even in a full room, I feel alone”
A quiet sense of never quite belonging, of standing outside a connection that seems to come easily to everyone else.
“The world feels too loud, too fast, too much”
Sensory overwhelm, exhaustion from masking, and the ache of being told you’re “too much” or “not enough.”
“I want to, but I can’t get myself to start”
A mind that races and stalls, time that slips away, and the shame that piles up around everything left undone.
“I’ve spent my life trying to seem ‘normal’”
Feeling wired differently — whether or not you have a name for it — and wondering who you are underneath the mask you learned to wear.
“I grew up walking on eggshells”
Learning early to scan a room for danger, to stay small, to keep the peace at the cost of your own needs.
“My body still braces for something bad”
Hypervigilance, a startle that won’t settle, a nervous system that never fully got the message that it’s over.
“I was the one holding everyone together”
Growing up around addiction or chaos, becoming the responsible one, and losing track of what you needed along the way.
“The same things keep happening in my relationships”
Recurring conflicts, distance, or the sense of losing yourself the moment you get close to someone.
“Something from the past still holds me”
Old experiences that keep shaping the present, approached slowly and always at your pace.
A few things gestalt therapy leans on
I won't give you homework or a formula. Instead, we work with what's actually here — your feelings, your body, and the contact between us — trusting that awareness is what makes change possible.
The here and now
We pay attention to what’s alive for you in the moment — not only the story of the past, but how it lives in you today.
The relationship between us
How you relate to me often mirrors how you relate to others. What happens between us becomes something we can explore, gently and openly.
Awareness before change
In gestalt, we don’t force change. We notice clearly what is — and things tend to shift once they’re truly seen.
We won't be right for everyone
Fit matters more than credentials. I'd rather be honest about that upfront than have you spend months with the wrong person — me included.
We might be a good match if…
- You sense something needs to change, even if you can't name it yet
- You're willing to look at your feelings, not just talk about events
- You want a real relationship with your therapist, not just techniques
- You can commit to meeting regularly, usually once a week
I'm probably not the one if…
- You're in an acute crisis and need immediate or emergency care
- You're looking for quick advice or a step-by-step fix in one session
- You'd prefer a strictly diagnostic, medication-first approach
- Right now you'd rather not reflect on your own part in things
